Kapaa, Kauai, Hawaii as a Vacation Destination

Kapaa is located on the island of Kauai in the Hawaiian Islands. It is in the far eastern part of Kauai County. Being only 20 miles and a 15 minute drive from Lihue it is ideally located to take advantage of being in the heart of Kauai. The Lihue airport is where a visitor arrives for their vacation in this tropical paradise.

Kapaa is a quiet small town with a great deal to offer its visitors. There are several large supermarkets in town. There are several shops to visit and pick up that treasure you cant live without. Coconut Market Place has a wide array of shops and boutiques to satisfy even the most adventurous traveler. There are art galleries, t-shirt shops, restaurants, jewelry stores and even a Hawaiian music store. Poipu 20 miles away is a beautiful drive as is Princeville another 20 miles in the other direction. This is one of the reasons why Kapaa is such a terrific location to stay in while in Kauai, it is so ideally located.

You will find restaurants to please all tastes. Scotty's Beachside BBQ is one of the local favorites. You cant go to Kauai without trying a Bubba Burger. One of the best breakfasts you will ever have in Kappa or otherwise is at the Kountry Kitchen, yes that is spelled correctly! In a nutshell the restaurants are terrific in the area whether its Asian, Mexican, Seafood, Hawaiian, or Barbecue.

Activities and Recreation abound in and around Kapaa Kauai.

You can go Swimming at the beach, kayak up the Wailua River, visit the Botanical Gardens you name it you need not lay around in Kapaa, Kauai ............except at the beach!
